Whitstable beach
This shot of Whitstable beach with its drawn-up fishing boats was taken in the late afternoon when the shadows from the spring sunshine were getting longer. I took it with my Zorki C loaded with Ferrania CR50 home-process colour slide film. It was my first attempt at processing colour slide. The colours were well saturated but not quite as bright as I had hoped. Certainly not as bright as Kodachrome. But then the film and processing kit was only about half the price of a 36 exposure roll of Kodachrome. On reflection I think maybe it might have been better if I had moved a short distance to the left to make more of the perspective of the line of boats, but it's only by our results that we learn.
