Stately dining room
I can't remember now which of the many stately homes open to visitors this was, but I remember that visitors were not allowed to use tripods for photography, I presume to stop spiked feet from digging in to the polished wood flooring. The house dated from the 1700s, but this room is decorated in the spacious Regency style of about 1810, more austere but cleaner looking and more elegant than the later Victorian over-furnished style. I had to stop the Canon A1 lens down to get a decent depth of field, which meant quite a long exposure, so I propped my shoulder against the door frame and took it by available light on Fujichrome slide film at about 1/15 sec.
