Pay the Ferryman
For years the only way of crossing the River Stour at Grove Ferry in Kent was by this hand operated floating ferry. It had been there since horse-vehicle days, and I can remember crossing it in my Dad's car when I was a boy in the 1930s. You rang a bell at either side and the Ferryman came out of his house and for a small sum hauled you and your car across by pulling on the rope. It has long since been replaced by a bridge. The film was FP3 and I probably took it using Valerie's 1936 Kine Exakta with f/2 Biotar lens, but I haven't got any other details.
