Evening
This could almost have been taken on an 8th Bomber Group airfield in East Anglia during the war, but it wasn't. The Air Show at Biggin Hill was a three-day event, and as we were getting ready to leave I spotted the Sally B which had been moved to a dispersal area where the crew were bedding her down for the night. I set the Canon A1 to manual and closed down three stops on the meter reading to underexpose and get the aircraft thrown into semi-silhouette with the low sun catching the cockpit and side of the fuselage. The preview on an SLR is so useful for little dodges like this.
